Throttle cable came loose

Energy One
my throttle cable came loose. How difficult is it to put back on. Came loose at the handle. It was at a shop getting the carb adjusted from being rebuilt. The guy working on it was frustrated said he was done working on big dog motorcycles it was outside for me to come get it. I got it home and started messing with the cables and figured out they are broke they just seem to have come loose. How difficult of a task is it to put that back on. I would like to add I did order some new ones from Barnett. Because this bike has been sitting for three years or more When I purchased it in April. I believe this is pretty much the reason why I’m having so much trouble. You guys have been a lot of help so far thank you for any feedback

I just like my Freedom
Its not a tough job, just a bit tricky. Sounds like the ferrule came loose in the grip. Just a matter of taking the right contol apart. Wrap some painters tape around the contol before you start. When you lossen the 3? screws on the control it wont fall apart on you. Now, the ferrule has been known to fall INTO the bars. Ask me how I know. Get a set of ferrules before you start so you have some extras when they hit the floor n roll ?.... Again, not a hard job, just tricky. Someone should have an exploded view for ya.

SKOGDOG

One of the old ones.
Gold advice above. Put a beach towel under the area when you work on it. I swear those damn things can ricochet like a .45 slug when they hit concrete, and you’ll not see it again until after you wait a week for replacements (actually if you ask any bike shop they usually have a few rolling around). Then you’ll find the damn thing under your shoe. Seriously: Big towel on the floor under your handlebar. Good time to lube the throttle cables too....B4948463-73D8-4DA7-9684-C42F1FF69BF0.png
