The waste of EBAY

Man, don't get me started about eBay. :rant:I've been an eBay user for 11 years (personally, not as a business). I have over 500 feedback's, all positive. 100% rating. Ebay began as a site promoting the individual seller, selling from home. Which was a great way to buy and sell stuff you might not be able to sell locally because of a smaller buyers market. The "little guy" is who built eBay into what it is today and over the last 3 years eBay has turned its back on this group of users IMO. They have raised their fees for individual sellers to the point you can't hardly sell anything and get decent money for it after fee's. If you accept PayPal as payment from your buyer (which is about the only option you have), you will end up giving eBay/PayPal about 12% of the total sale (PayPal being about 2.5% of that and eBay the rest). The only way you get a break on this is if you are a high volume seller. Prior to about 3 years ago the majority of listings on eBay were individual sellers. Now its overwhelmingly businesses. Ebay has changed its business strategy to cater to big business. I can understand this to a point, I'm sure it was a customer service nightmare to deal with Joe Blow that got screwed by John Doe in another state. Which has also forced them to enact strict and ridiculous IMO polices relating to feedback and buyer protection. Basically the buyer is always right, not matter what. And if a buyer files an "item not as described" complaint, eBay will refund the buyers money from your papal account or freeze your PayPal account if the funds are not available. Its a buyers market, and they basically give the seller no recourse. I've encountered this myself. Lots of users have caught on to this and will intentionally file these complaints and threaten to leave negative feedback in hopes of scoring a free item. There is lots of buyer remorse. It's gotten crazy.

The fee's have gotten so out of control IMO that I have stopped selling on eBay. This also ends up costing buyers more because sellers have to ask more for their items to cover fee's. I have started using Craigslist, with some good results but not as good as ebay was back in the day.

I have nothing against them catering to big business nor do I have anything against big business. But I'd like to see them not forget about those who help build eBay into what it is today. Guys like us wanting to sell our old primary to offset the price of our new belt drive, without giving them an arm and a leg to do it (or a bag of dicks:)).

Good example of this is yesterday I sold some parts to another user on this site for $400. I had to give PayPal 2.5% but if I had sold on eBay I would have had to give them another $40, beyond the 2.5 I already gave PayPal. That's f'ing ridiculous! Pisses me off just thinking about it.

I have actually parked a domain with go-daddy in hopes of starting a new online marketplace that again caters to the "little guy". Just need to get off my ass and make it happen. Anybody ready to list?

Well Im trying to do my part with Wild Steed Worx.
Being an avid BD rider myself I have grown weary of looking and looking to try and find decent parts for my ride. So I started my own thing.
With everyones input here I hope to be the premier go to place for anything Big Dog.
Of course it will take time but what else am I going to do between now and the time I start chewing on daisy roots?
