The SoftPull Clutch Mystery Solved with Pitchers

Ok here it is there haint no longer arm like a Harley soft pull just a different ramp length and style one thing to note is it doesnt disengage your clutch no where near as far either with the softpull clutch ramp setup I coodnt never find neutral,So I haint gonna say dont do it but lessons you got a change the clutch as Baker recommends not doin this without changing the clutch pack and I understand why as the newer clutch packs have less plates so they dont need to travel the clutch rod as far

The two pieces on the left are the softpull kit the pieces oposite are the standard actuator

As you can see there haint no differances in length of where the clutch cable goes

There is a lot of great mods but this haint one of em lesson you also change the clutch pack
but if you study about it, that haint a good idea either because if its a smaller clutch its easier to destroy

My 9 disc soft pull clutch kit has worked fine, all 6900 miles. Wouldn't ride without one. I just don't beat the hell outta the clutch because it aint no drag bike.

Your right you did the whole kit but if you just add the actuator it dont work so swell as the travel of the clutch rod is reduced by about 60 thousands I did it cause I got a Karata Piranah clutch not a Piranah junior with a 6 inch belt drive hitn 150 hp with a 124 and its a tough pull to disengage the clutch at a lite ...I agree its a wonderful mod if you do the whole change guess thats why BigDog made it standard could be why the guys with 07 up like yours are having such issues with setting up the bandit clutches to though. I have tried everything rite done to running half the springs in my clutch tring to get a little less tension on the clutch handel my next attempt is gonna be to cut out the bottom of the trap door cover and lengtheing the arm as there haint no room without cutting for a longer folcrum

I would say it only reduces the movement more like .020-.025on the stock clutch, which you can still adjust but its on the edge of neutral at lights. Put in neutral rolling up or the 1500RPM's has always worked for me. I have this set up with the stock clutch for about 5000 miles without problems.

Yes, making the arm longer would make it easier but aren't you limited on the arm by the clutch travel at the handle bars?
You only have so much travel up there unless you install a modifier on the cable.

No flame intended just asken

2k on mine with soft pull lever and have the original clutch pack in. Neutral is a little tricky, but N is overrated anyway. I just bought a karata open primary(4in) and a pirana jr clutch came with it.I wonder if this is going to make a difference?

I had a reel hard time with the clutch adjustments after installing the Karata
so I switched back to the original and all my issues went away....considering other than a different style ramp it offers no advantages if your using a Karata....just disadvantages
