The Gathering 2020

The Gathering in Kansas at Flint oaks, is still available. Everyone that has attended knows it thanks right up there with BBBBQ at Dave's farm.
I am unavailable to host this event, and I'm looking for some one to take it over this year.
Flint oaks does most of the work as far as lodging and food, we basically just show up and party. If anybody is interested please give me a call.

Now I know you all didn't come to this Gathering to see me. I hate to see this go by the wayside, who do we have out there I'd be interested in running this this year.?

Sorry guys would love to help but 2,000 miles away is a problem (although I am planning on attending) and besides I really want to get one in the Northeast this year.

I know Shannon wanted to see more regional Gatherings this year.

Anybody planning to attend the ROT (Republic of Texas) Rally to celebrate its 25th anniversary on June 11-14 ?

I thought about a sub-rally for Big Dogs, kinda like Dave at BBBBQ. I don't have facilities like Dave, (my driveway would only hold one camper :) ), but I could lead as many great rides as y'all want to run and cook you a steak dinner.

Interest ?

You and Blackie need to get together. That's what I wanted to talk to the both of you about a Thanksgiving, but @Blackie got side tracked. I'm thinking the two of you would hit it off big time.

Got to thinking while doing a PM with Brent. Sometimes trying to do a big Gathering in your area, may be to big of bite the first time. Remember before the Gathering at Flint oaks, I was just doing lunch rides. I'd pick a spot, and contact everyone in a 300 mile radius, plus posting it on here. Sometimes I would ride 2 1/2 hours and just meet up with one person. Then it grew from there.
Even the Gathering at Dave's farm, was just a lunch ride for many years before we started partying at the farm.
I have some ideas rolling around in my head right now, and I'm trying to track down a couple key people to help with it. So stay tuned.

Alright, here's the scoop. Thanks Butch and Hman for volunteering to help, but after discussing it with the planning committee, and weighing the pros and cons to do another Gathering at Flint oaks, we decided to just let that one go.
One of the main reasons for this decision is that we are doing one at Dave's the month before. And Dave's farm is a lot cheaper to party at.
So until that time that Dave sells the farm, or he just runs us out of there, we will do a May and a September Gathering there.
The other established Gatherings are Daytona, that happens a couple times a year, and what Fat Bastard does out on the West coast.
Any Gatherings you are putting together, post in the Gathering category under forums, but all other regional events needs to be still posted under events.

I am going to try and make a few more this year. The one in the N.E. sounds great, just let me know when you get things figured out. Most of them I will trailer, as I do not want to break down some where and miss everything.

Breaking down on the way some where is all part of the adventure.

Yeah, you'd rather get there first then realize somethings wrong and it needs to go back int he trailer, isn't that how it's gone?
I fought it one year on the way out and it failed trying to go home that year -- last year out and back -- OK.
Gotta have some faith!

I agree! Makes sense considering it's so close in time and distance. Heck from flint oaks to Dave's is only 200ish miles apart and I know like the southern TX guys as well as the people from up North taking 2 very long weekends in just a month time is really tough. Unless your @BigMike and retired! Lol

Although how's about those TN boys getting one rolling in that area! Would be nice to see another one pop up even on the same dates, just in a different area!

I'd love to see one where people gather in the mountains of N.C. Maybe around the Cherokee or maybe even Hot Springs. We could ride up to Del Toro Tn and make a weekend at a place called Bobaroso Saloon, they have campers and leather shop and even a bar on site. Or Deals Gap and ride the dragons tail.

It is very beautiful, especially during the spring and fall when the leaves are at their peak colors. Winding roads and mountains that go high enough to see a state away, with pull off spots that all have different views, roads thru woods that seem to go forever. Kinda the perfect riding area if you want a change of long straight roads with open fields on each side. . I'll have to post some pictures of some of the spots I've been to.
