The cure for that saggy toolbag!

I've gone through a shitload of tool bags over the years, dragging them, catching them on curbs or the trailer ramp, etc. No matter which one I got, they always ended up sliding down and sagging like an old man's balls. I finally came up with a simple cure that works!

Drilled and tapped a set of 1/4-20 holes in my front engine mount:

Made myself a bracket out of some steel plate I picked up at sears (primed and painted black):

Bolted it up:

Before, saggin' and draggin':

After, tight and right!:

kinda like a jock strap for your bag.

good idea. also should keep it up high enough to let the VR stay cool.

Good idea. I had some people complain about that when I used to make toolbags, then I started fabricating high-density poly-ethyline shells that were sandwiched in btn the exterior leather and internal backing, that made them *real* strong....one guy even dented his fender with it.

Moe,
so this is like a little shelf that the bag sits on in addition to being tied to the down tubes correct?

I like the idea!!

But I will have to rig something different for my 03....

Yup, just a shelf for the bag to rest on. On your bike there is something in the way there, right? Couldn't you tap it off the frame?
