Pitbull01, Do you have some one that's knows there way around a cycle to get you "in the ball park" Not to be smart but you need someone to check your bike in person. You could have a few thing going on there, don't want to see you damage your motor.

Nice bike by the way. Don't run that velocity stack on the street, they look good but suck dirt and shit you don't want in your motor.

i could take the air filter off of my sportster...its the classic tear drop s&s filter and cover...that should work...but then wouldnt i have to adjust the air/fuel mixture

Pitbull01, sounds like your determined. Like I said, should have some one with you. here's a start....check and make sure you don't have any air leaks, check the manifold gaskets, you can do this two ways, spray starting fluid around the intake (BE CAREFUL DONIG THIS IT'S FLAMMABLE) If you have a leak the RPM's will increase. Or use WD40 spray around manifold RPM's will decrease or bike will sputter a bit, of course you do this with the bike running. If this does not yield results, pull the carb bowl and check jet sizes, both slow speed and main.....then get new jets next size bigger, get new plugs, run bike recheck plugs..........oh, and use that tear drop air cleaner. This is just a quick guide, search the forum, ask more questions, take your time. Now, I gotta pack for trip to AZ. Good luck.

Thats a cool older Big Dog. I think there is a bike shop in Moline that shouldnt be to far from you and they sold Big Dogs

You need to get that fixed and quit riding it like that. Take off that velocity stack and you might solve the problem

i changed the gas and its dont tap anymore and i ran it around the block a couple time(quite a few times actually) and checked the plugs and they are not white anymore they are closer to a brown color but not really dark....still gonna take off the velocity stack. it looks sweet but i would rather have a different air filter on than have dirt and all the other nice airborne particles get in my motor.
