TANK PROTECTOR

Hi mate, I like them... but,

-I am wondering if it would create a mess on the paint once you take it off?
-Are they reusable? (can it be used on & off)

Good questions franco, will do some more research on them unless someone here has some more info. One of the reasons I looked at them was it would cover two small deep chips...that really pisses me off...on my tank....cheap fix if they do the job me thinks

I know the feeling Tony, I had to repaint my tank too... :bang: I was going to put "Bullet Holes" Stickers... but in the end I decide to get it repainted.

Let me know what you find out about these stickers, I will do some research too.

My chips were solely my fault... had toooo many beers....pushed my bike into the garage from outside....slipped in my bare feet...bike landed on top of me...front end turned that sharp the two nuts that connect to my throttle and brake cables dug into my tank...sh*t..almost had to call the misses to help me lift the bike off me...christ if anybody had taken a photo of me under the bike...........well um!

I think member "Utopiapga" might make this sort of item. personally I don't think I would glue anything to my paint, bugs are hard enough to get off. They mention it's made of a vinyl 3 d gel, and it stick with some type of stron adheasive. Just doesn't go along with "custom paint" in my book. I hope I,m wrong.

"Unique KEITI design, which complies with design and colour of various motorcycle models
The featured product is a 3-D gel (resin coated) tank pad, which will protect your petrol tank and also will make your bike look good
Effective under a wide range of temperatures: -10°C to 80°C
Manufactured using high quality imported vinyl
Features strong adhesion to ensure product wont lift or peel off
UV resistant silkscreen printing used to prevent fading even after repeated exposure to bright sunlight
Exclusively formulated non yellowing resin and 3D gel layer assure durability"

The only time I would apply one is if the tank needed repainting anyway... might get you by for an other season or two while you save up for paint.

Thanks for sharing. I might have to remove the one from my Daytona 675 and upgrade to one with a little more pizazz.

I've never seen anyone put one of these on their chopper or pro-street before. All the guys down here have them on the crotch rockets though. Several of the guys I work with have them on their bikes.

These where mainly made for crotch rockets to keep the tank from getting scratched up from leaning on the tank. As far as the gel goes it is like what we make our decals out of and if it is basically the same product you can stick these to your tank and peel it back off when you are done with it WITHOUT messing up your paint! My decals that I make I do a lot of custom badging for cars and bikes alike and the adhesive that we us won't even leave a sticky film when you peel it back off and are guaranteed not to fade even in direct sunlight. These kind of decals where originally designed for boats and even hold up to the salt from the water.

As stated I wouldn't so much worry about it ruining your paint but why would you wanna put a $10 decal cover up on a $30,000 bike? To each there own and I make a lot of HIGH end custom badges for a lot of high end cars but to me this wouldn't look right to me..............just my 2 cents.
