Tank Instsall

Getting ready to re-install my tank after speedo/headlight shell swap. I noticed some grease or wax remnant on the rubber mount for the rear of the tank. Does anyone use grease or wax or anything of the sort to help get the tank back onto that rubber piece?

I've had my tank off numerous times and have never installed any grease on the rubber mount.

I do, but it is to protect the rubber itself from drying/rotting. :up:
