Hi folks. I'm in need of a shop in the Tampa/Land O'Lakes area who can change the rear tire on an '04 Chopper and also do a tune up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Keith, I'd just go out this weekend to a few bars and pick up the local biker mags like Rebel rider, Born to ride etc. They always have ads for bike shops. As far as the tune up you can do that yourself very easy. Just do a search on here for all the info you need. Good luck.

Ride Factory I'm Ybor City is decent for the routine maintenance stuff, they also do good tire work. Like Bill said, the tune ups are not that bad if you want to try, but Ride Factory will do you well..

I'm pretty sure BD of Tampa is out of business, they've been outfor a few years now. There is a shop on Dale Mabry in Lutz called Reinhartds 813-909-2299, they work on a variety of bikes,I've yet to use them (no need) but I have been able to get parts from them, very helpful.

Thanks Lars. I wasn't going to say anything until I had something to report but I went there on Friday. Reinhardt seems like a very nice guy and is very professional. They work on all bikes but he even said they work on lots of Big Dogs. I even saw a couple of them while I was there. He is going to pick up the bike hopefully on Tuesday. I'll let you guys know after that how it went. I hope to have a new shop as it's only seven miles from my house.

My Bad - I checked their web first and is still up - a quick search shows same owners opened Big Dogs and Hogs. 14723 N Florida Ave - (813) 935-4166. You might want to check them out for future use. Always good to have someone who knows these bikes before the wrench on it.

Big Dogs and Hogs also went out of business. I went to him some years ago. He now does work out of his garage. But he did know what he was doing and is a great guy.

I removed my rear tire and brought it to Action Honda in Hudson. They changed my 300 rear tire for something around $20.
I prefer to wrench on my bike, but I have taking a likening to Ken at K & K Custom Cycles in Palm Harbor, very nice and knowledgeable.

Just some more info for you to sift through.

I just wanted to give an update on my rear tire situation.

After contacting Rhinehardt at Rhinehardt's Motocycles in Lutz, he was able to order a tire for me. He picked up the bike yesterday and installed it. After the install by his technician George, he then test rode the bike to ensure was all well and I was able to ride out a happy camper.

Now I know most of you will say changing a tire is not a big deal. But to me it is. This is my life I am putting into someone else's hands. In addition to that, I am trusting him to give me great service and he is trusting me to be a decent customer.

I would recommend Rhinehardt to anyone in the Land O'Lakes area. For me he is only 7 miles from my house and is very convenient. He's a great guy and is willing to do whatever it takes to get you back on the road. Sorry this got a bit long-winded, but when I see or experience good service, I think it should be noted far and wide.

Keith.
