2005 pitbull.....left side run light isnt working. blinker works, brake light works but no run light. checked for any pinch wires and connections.1 cant figure out how to remove leds, 2 dont know where to find the leds. any help much appreciated.

Just had my left rear running light go out last week, called bigdog performance parts and had one at my door in 5 days. Cost me 60 bucks for the led board but had to have it! they have the lenses too but if you are near a harley dealer they have the same thing for about 4 bucks. I have a really bad habbit of kicking the right lense cover off when swinging my leg over! Damn it!
Hope this helps

LED's are all different, color, brightness, intensity angle cone, sizes, shapes, clear, diffused... You could try Jameco Electronics for a high brightness RED, T1 3/4 size.

This could work but it may not match exactly to the original regarding color and brightness.
RED: UT9C13-86-UDC2-R: JAMECO VALUEPRO: Opto & Illumination
YELLOW: BVT-5E1TT4E: JAMECO VALUEPRO: Opto & Illumination
OR select a HIGH BRIGHTNESS one from this list. http://www.jameco.com/Jameco/catalogs/c112/P25.pdf

LED's are light emitting diodes and thus only work when installed in the proper direction in the circuit board.

If the LED works for a BRAKE LIGHT condition but not a RUNNING LIGHT condition then the LED still works. If the LED turns on regardless of the intensity...it works.
The problem is in the RUNNING LIGHT signal wire or its connector/solder point OR on the circuit board. It's probably your harness connection to the left side.

If they light up for brake it is not the LEDs ghat are bad. There are two power wires that run to the lamp. One is for bright and one for dim. You need to check the connections and wiring for the dim runing lamp wire.
You can bench test the led board to check it.

you could swap the boards (left n right) on the tail lights to verify it is actually the board. Sounds to me like a connection. Look at the pins in the connector as well.

Don't remember exactly what Bruce did but he fixed Mr. Grimm's tail light issue on the fily on our Rolling Thunder ride. Pretty sure it was a connection issue.

Yes it was a connection issue. He just pulled the connector on and off a couple of times.

i have left side running lite out, i have break and signal, switched it with right side and i have running lite. and no running lite on right. so i think it has to be the connection on the board, if its a connection issue. got new board ordered

Another place to start looking is under the rear fender. Sometimes the wire tube will detatch and your tire will rub your wire raw creating an intermitting short type of effect. fairly easy to fix.

I had the same exact problem. . Ended up being the plug on the wire end for the led lights. .unplugged led bought a new plug /socket from harley with wires. .replaced it works fine. . Easy fix

Almost forgot the plug has small numbers on it 1. 2. 3. Remember what color wires went to each number so you splice it together right. ..

Having same issue with left side. Left running light wasn't working so I switched it to the right side. It worked on the right side and the one working didn't work on left side. So I know its not the panel. Now to trace the wires and see where the problem is? Has anyone recently found the issue?

It's the wire, it's either rubbed thin somewhere or connection is bad.

There's 3 wires going to the LED, running lights are on their own line. Brake and Blinker are on the same line, black is the ground.
