Okay, typical BD issue. Had ecu go out, shop got me the newer bd one and wire harness. Tried to get wire plus but was too late before they got this one. All wired up and works great with one exception. The tach pegs out as running. Any clues would be great.

First thing would be clean sensor on top of transmission could just be dirty. Tach maxed out sounds really like a short but check sensor clean it first.

For the tach issue the sensor you would want to clean would be the crank sensor not the trans sensor, just saying! The pulse count is provided to the ignition module by the crank sensor. If cleaning the sensor doesn't help then as Scott mentioned, it's more likely a wiring issue.
