I am changing my engine oil today and i am switching to synthetic oil, was wondering if i need to do anything more than drain from the oil tank since i was previously running regular 2050??

you could get a scavenger (I got a cheap $20 plastic one which does the job. Drain the oil, remove filter, screw on device to filter housing, refil the oil and start the motor to purge out some more old, dirty oil. Then put your new filter on and top up the oil. It does get messy though - or it does when I do it anyway!
