Super G and Manifold?

Hi all... I have been thinking about replacing my current stock E carb with a Super G. I realize I also need to purchase the manifold. I can purchase a polished Super G and Manifold from bikers dream with a discount for only $335!! This is much cheaper than what I would have in to purchase a XXX and then also have to buy a manifold. Is it worth the money to buy the carb from Bikers Dream over my current stock or should I go the extra money and get the XXX carb? Thanks!!!!

I would say buy the manifold and trade your E for a XXX G carb if you are determined to make the move. Also depending on how you are going to ride you may want to consider trading your stock E carb for a XXX E carb . Many have done this. Good low end torque and fuel mileage. One member here is pushin 80,000 miles with this set up on his 05. But I'm drunk right now so get some more info :D V

If you're going to do any headwork, that would be the time to invest in the "G" carb and manifold.
Proper cylinder head mods, and fixing engine geometry will mean using a narrow manifold.
A "G" carb, bored, T-jetted, and some passages reworked, are the best mods money can buy.
FYI, a "G" carb on a 100" engine or larger, will never hurt low end performance.

thanks guys... no engine upgrades in the near future.. just thinking if a little smart invested money in the carb would garner any gains to hp or low end torque.. my bike is pretty damn mean right now, especially compared to my Harley EG!!

I just noted the great deal on a stock Super G and manifold (with the discount for Dad's Day!) from Bikers Dream versus XXX, but I'm definitely no gear head.... basically a bolt on mechanic!!

Nice pic! Looks like the four required food groups. Performance, torque, horse power and good looks.:2thumbs:

To anyone that has top end engine tick. I have found the problem. S&S sent unassembled motors to Big Dog when they built their bike up until 2007. When big dog recieved the unassembled motors and parts, they would pour all the parts out on the assembly tables and then start putting the motors together. According to S&S, their motors are specifically assembled using machined parts specific for that production (particular) motor. By Big Dog just grabbing any part from the table, even though those parts were correct for the application, they did not assemble the motors according to the production parts specific for that individual motor.

The ticking nose is Piston slap. I replaced my pistons with .10 over and had the jugs honed to 4 & 1/8 Plus 10 thousands or 4.135 (+) or (-) .0005 of tolerances in the jugs. The pistion when dropped into the jug should shimmy down the jug rather than fall quicky through the jug. My bike has no noise now and runs very smooth.
