Starter shaft

Well tried to start my dog after getting gas after a good ride and there was a loud bang and then just a whirrrrr from the starter.. I always start my bike before I get on so that I'm not hitting the throttle or the bike is in motion... I'm pretty sure I have snapped the starter shaft... I was wondering if any one knows the link to a starter install/removal.. I would like to do the work my self... Think I'm gonna take the time while the bike is out of commission to either put a 585 cam and open primary or 585 cam and carb on..

Mine broke a while back on a K9, listen if you have an altenator/starter shop in town take it to them the shaft is common to car starters too and I was able to get one for just $10 bucks.:2thumbs:
