Starter info and question about rocker box cover

Was just looking at the starter and noticed the solenoid style looks just like the ones that Toyota,Honda and Chrysler used for decades. And other than oil leaking in them have only seen 2 or 3 that the actual motor went bad. Take the cover off the solenoid and can get a kit that has a plunger and two contacts usually one contact is worn way more than the other , And the plunger is the same size on all. The kit is only about 20$. Question about rocker box covers is did BD drill and tap heads to make their covers fit? Bolt pattern is way different between the 2
