Hey guys on my 05 ridgeback once it gets really warmed up in between pulling clutch in and letting out like when stuck in heavy traffic I get a pretty loud squeal any ideas what it might be

1. I do not hear a peep when I am in open traffic and I never move the clutch lever most of the riding time, and when I do stop, not a sound when leaving the light, stop sign, etc.
2. I hear a lot of squeal once I am in stop and go traffic.
3. I tend to hold the clutch lever in most of the time waiting.

Here's the choice, and my for what it's worth everyone has an opinion.
a. I have a heat distribution problem holding the lever in. The pack transfers heat touching. The holding in the lever raises the heat. This now acts like hot brake shoes and squeals when applied.
b. I can find N each time, let the plates transfer the heat, pull the lever in and bang the trans to death.
c. Here comes the either or... either I run in the cheap seats and blow a clutch plate every so often holding the lever in, rather than rebuild the trans that costs a lot more than a pack of plates.

You can sit there and read all of Sven's bullshit till he drives you nuts or you can replace the throw out bearing and take care of the problem.

Boo, OP said no noise when not in traffic. If he pulls it in normally, the bearing would squeak if it was bad. The reason I have to drag shit out is you still missed it LOL

while you are in there checking out the throw-out bearing, pull the clutch pushrod and check it for rub marks and replace if it is scored and grease it up really good.
The laugh is on you, Sven if you want to ride with the big boys you need to know that the Throw out bearing squeaks and stretches when you pull the clutch not when it's not being used or normal riding as you call. Get on the stick and get you a Big Dog, experience a real men's ride before you comment on something as elementary as a throw out Bearing.
