My speedometer recently started bouncing around then bounced its way down to zero which is where it has been ever since, (about 2 weeks) it has worked on occasion for a minute or two, logged about 7 miles in the past 2 weeks when in fact I have gone at least 400 miles. I was reading some similar post on this subject and I keep reading that the speedometer does an initial check when you turn the key on and sweeps from 0-60, mine has never done this, it does the initial sweep but only goes from 0-30, does this mean that there is another issue? or is the 0-30 sweep good enoungh? This weekend I am going to pull the speedo sensor and clean it up and hopefully this fixes my MPH problem.

It always should have done a sweep form 0 to 60, paused for a second, and then dropped back to zero. This should be happening happen every time you turn the key on.

There is also an upgrade that your dealer should provide, to "flash" the EHC with new software. After that, the speedo should do the first sweep just like before, but then also repeat the sweep after the START button is depressed.

my speedo is doing this now. I am not sure why. How did you fix this!! I was polishing the bike 1 weekend and the dremmel pulled on the wires not sure if this is the cause.
