Speedometer not working still.

So far I replaced the EHC ( for other reasons) and bought u used Dakota digital from a member here and installed it. Still not getting a speedometer working. Any ideas what I can try next? Have a trip to the dragon in a couple weeks and it would be nice to have for the trip.

Do the turn signals self cancel while riding? If not your problem could be your speed sensor.

No sir they do not

I have not had that problem but I think I remember reading that.
Do a search on speed sensor.
The sensor is down on the side of the transmission.

Replace the speed sensor on the tranny, its not sending a signal if its not self canceling, are ya sure its plugged in? Maybe try pulling it out and whipping it off.
Its a proximity type sensor that senses the teeth on the gear as it turns in the tranny

Don't just replace the sensor without verifying its bad. Take a multi meter and put it on AC setting then spin the back tire.
Do it at the sensor on trans and then the circuit into the back of the speedo.

Only 3 parts to consider, sensor, the wire, and the speedo.

If no signal at the sensor at trans, replace sensor
If you have signal at trans at not t speedo, the wiring is the issue
If signal present at trans and circuit at speedo, then speedo is the issue.

Depending on what you replaced the EHC with, it may not self cancel.
