Well if you want dive into it then start with all the connectors from inside the speedo bucket all the way back to the EHC. Pull them, fill them and seal them.

Good luck,
Ray

Need more info. Is the speedo doing anything at all. If I crank mine before the needle sets back to zero my speedo wont work and the odometer won't count the miles but, the tach works fine. If thats what yours is doing then wait for the needle to zero out.

Mine does the same thing.

I was told that our speedos require a minimum of 8 volts and it sees less then it dummies up. If the bike sits awhile this may accur. I have been leaving mine on trickle charge if it's going to sit awhile and has not accured.
Go figure.

Doesn't everyone keep there scoots on life support 24/7 when it's in the garage?

Not me. If the battery needs to be on a charger it isn't healthy or the charging system isn't up to snuff. Right?

I keep everything I own on a charger. Bikes, ATV's. boats, campers, if it doesn't get used daily I have it on a charger. The batteries last longer.

No, you battery is discharging some amount (it's in the manual) everyday so it should be maintained on a tender so that it is fully charged. I think it was Fat Cat that posted that if the speedo doesn't have at least 12 full volts or it won't cycle properly at startup.
But it's your choice! :D

since it has cooled off in AZ I was having a lot of problems with my speedo.
Since it has been on the trickle charger it has worked every time

yeah Ray...I think thats what mine was doing....maybe my battery is getting weak...I always keep it on the tender....and thats probably why my speedo froze up when it was cold...on first start...then after a few miles....I shut the bike off and then restart...then it works again.....but still fogs....I'm thinking of getting one of those Interstate batteries like Jake has..with 310cca

when I had the speedo replaced in September....no problems at all....but the last few rides I took....when it was cold out....I had the problem as stated above...
