Took the dog out for a quick spin today and about a half mile in i noticed all four of my turn signals flashing(saw it on the speedo). Then my speedo blacked out, nothing was working. I am using a dakota digital. Then it went back on and then off again and then on again?. Came home, shut the bike off, waited a few, started it up and seemed to be working fine after another quick cruise. What could be the cause of this. EHC?, Battery(i'm still on the original. been 2.5 years, always kept on tender) Anybody with a dakota digital run into this problem??

I would bet Battery. The Dogs are very Voltage sensitive. The ride probably brought the voltage back up in the battery.

Does your bike have the new EHC flash update that swings (resets) the speedo after you press the start button. If not, you should get it updated.

The battery may be getting old and not staying at 12.8 volts or so. check the battery voltage at 2000 RPM with a voltmeter. It should read around 14 volts to check the voltage regulator & stator.
