speedo eratic- 06 K9

Speedo problem, The EHC was flashed several months ago to reboot after starting, this fixed the speedo not working issue. Things were working fine until yesterday, Took trip in East Texas and about 3 hrs into it I was moving about 85 mph and all of sudden the speedo dropped to 60 then back up and down. When I give it throttle the speed drops down. Also sitting still in neutral and rip it up, the speed goes up to 40 or 50 sitting still. any ideas?

I would start at the speed sensor on the tranny. Pull it, clean it, and see what happens. Next I would start checking connections and see if anything is loose or for broken or chaffed wires. But sounds like it needs to be flashed again. I don't really know alot about the speedos though I went with the Dakota Digital when my lens cracked. Hopefully it will be this simple.

Can't help with the technical end of your autometer speedo however, if you do find it is a defective speedo I still have 2 blue Dakota Speedometers available. They are due in the end of the week. These will be the last ones for a while due to an ongoing backorder situation at Dakota. This has been a really hot mod. They are available on The Big Dog Group Buy Page.

I am out of town and manual is at home, is this the sensor on top of tranny toward the rear.

Pulled sensor cleaned reinstalled and same thing, doing about 60 and shows 30. Think if i get the Dakota it will fix issue?

I also have an '06 K9. After 40 mph the speedo wasn't worth a shit. Went with Dakota. You'll love this speedo, very easy to see and has 2 trip meters. It even has a service trip meter. Easy to set up and user friendly.
