Speed o meter

I replaced the speedometer on my 2004 ridgeback, it was fogging it had water in it. They told me it was calibrated from the factory, it is not. I got the instructions off here and tried to reset it myself, the 2 miles thing @ 60 mph.
At exactly 2 miles on the highway (mile-markers) it is reading 2.2 miles. I did everything, and still it is showing about 10 mph too fast.
My question -> If I reset the speedometer and travel exactly 1.8 miles will this get my speed at least closer than it right now?

5280 feet per mile.

Mile markers aren't always exactly one mile apart. In some cities the cab drivers have exactly one mile marked out to check their meters. Call a local cab company and ask them.

YES, you could go back and set it for 1.8 miles to adjust it. The SPEED you drive should not matter for setting the speedo, it's all distance that converts to digital ticks in the speedo software.

I know a little about this, I designed this unit. http://www.remarkind.com/intellidash.html
