Solenoid Starter Button issue resulting in Clutch issue

I was installing my solenoid starter button and of course things didn't go smoothly (my mechanical skills are pretty bad). Before permanently screwing the solenoid cover back on I wanted to make sure the bike started.

I went to grab the clutch to make sure bike was in NEUTRAL and the clutch lever was completely "limp". Not sure how that happened and what I should do about it. Also, the bike isn't starting by using the push button. It is turning over but no full ignition is happening.

What was initially one problem (bike wouldn't start consistently from the handlebar controls) now is 2 problems. Clutch and Solenoid starter button.

Any suggestions?? All information is appreciated and welcome! :bang:

Key on, push the run button on your right control (not the start button) and then push the button you installed on your starter. Is that the sequence you did?

Brew, yes. That is the sequence. On top the of the clutch "mysteriously" not working ......it appears that by my constant attempts at using the manual solenoid starter I have melted the positive battery terminal. Not completely melted but close enough.

It the starter button making too much contact? And would that result in overheating the battery terminal?

I wish I had more money.
If its melting it's because it's making poor contact. Not cause it was great contact.

The connection was definitely loose. Here is a picture of the positive battery terminal.

Now the bike won't start and the "hazards" are coming on when I try to start it with both the Run button on the handlebars and the Solenoid starter button.

I called Strokers and they said I will have to get a new battery. Is that the only option from your perspective?

Wow  that sum beach was arching! You didn't see fireworks coming out from under your seat...:D I would get a new battery, that positive post looks screwed. Make sure your connections are tight next time...:2thumbs:

The flashing hazards are a sign of low voltage. They are designed to do that in the ehc.
Start with a new battery and go from there.

Got the new battery, hooked it up and everything works. Now I just need to figure out what happened to my clutch!!

Well....my dumbass didn't realize that when I was putting on the Solenoid button I loosened the belt cover/clutch primary dealy whopper. Once I put it all back together...PRESTO!!! the clutch was fully functional. False alarm and my skills are can only go up from here!

Well, on a positive note you've definitely learned from your experience. Congratulations for having the guts to try and I might add, succeed!!!
