:loony: well.... im in the market lookin for a bike... i really want a k9 because i do A LOT of riding, and im talking all over not just around the block.... now a lot of people are saying go with the soft tail k9, but also a lot of people are saying that there is not much difference between the k9 and ridgeback..... GIVE ME UR HONEST OPINIONS GUYS... be harsh... this is a big decision, ridgebacks are a lot cheaper than k9's ..BUT u hit a pot hole on a rigid..and that might be bad news........ so i want to kno the TRUE answer.... im leaning towards the k9..... but leme know what you think!!:bang:

Custom 2008 K9
I'm on my 2nd K9. 1st was a 2006 I put 15K miles on, traded it in last year and now my 2008 just rolled over 15K miles. I've hit some potholes and rough road which bounced me up off the seat and I'm sure would have been worse on a rigid. I take a passenger every once in a while so you may have to take that into consideration too.

I'm 5'10" and the K9 fit me better. It seemed the seat on the ridgeback is back a little more (the rear wheel is smaller in diameter on the Ridgeback) which stretched me out more than I liked. Of course this can be adjusted with different pegs and custom seat.

I think the K9 is just going to ride better and probably a bit safer when negotiating tight corners with rough roads. Taking bumps straight on is one thing but hitting bumps while leaned over in a curve is something else. I just prefer having the suspension to keep the rubber in contact with the road.

That said, I do hear that the Ridgeback rides very well for a hard-tail. I just don't have one to give personal feedback on. I think one rider on this site has over 20K on their rigid?

I wish I had more money.
Just get the fuckn K9 and be done with it.
You'll be happy ya did. Now take your ass on up to the dealer and get that fucker. "Is the k9 better that the ridgeback? Will the ridgeback make my ass look fat?" Go ride both those fuckers and buy one and you tell us which one you like how about that!?:spank::D:D:bang::roll:

FREEDOM!!!
Ridgeback here. Love it. As far as how to ride it I was thinking this yesterday riding home before it crapped out on me. Over smooth roads piece of cake. Just hang on and nail it. Over bumpy roads, potholes, expansion joints, etc you ride it like a horse. Be aware of what's coming up in front of you and keep your feet in the stirrups rising up a bit anticipating bumps. That's what I was thinking it's like anyways.......

Oh yea, one thing is identical between a K9 and a Ridgeback. If they breakdown pushing them will SUCK!!!

I've ridden the K9 and it's a sweet ride. I do about 20k a year and I wouldn't even consider a rigid. If you're into long rides I think you'll find a softail much more comfortable. Just my opinion.....
