Hey guys, so I have Been working on this bike for almost a year here and there when I get time. Finally got her running and noticed my gauge was only at like 11.9 volts, threw a meter on it and it wasn’t charging. Tested everything and voltage regulator was shot. Got a new one from Curtis, finally installed it today and the bike won’t start. It’s getting fuel and spark… I haven’t rode it since the complete rebuild. Any ideas?

The bike started before the voltage regulator change,,,, and the only thing you did was change the regulator and now it doesn't start?? I would recheck the regulator install . Is it turning over??

So idk what happened, maybe I flooded it, idk, went back a while later and she fired right up… took her for her first run in about four years, rear caliper is stuck, no rear brake and it was rubbing the whole time enough for me to pop some of the pins that hold the rotor itself to the center piece…

So anyone got the breakdown of installation of the caliper? I think I am missing a washer or have one installed one the wrong side, the outside is almost flush with the rotor and plenty of room on the inside…

Happy to here you got her running, Surprised after 4 years sitting the caliper was your only problem, SAFE RIDING!
No, I did a complete rebuild on the motor, took the tins off and repainted them. The engine started throwing oil from the exhaust so I did a complete tear down. I had already bored it over in the past and did Carillo pistons due to the jugs being oblong, installed a 600 cam and had the heads redone with bigger springs ported and polished. Pretty much just redid all the wearable parts and had the heads redone.

Your likely not missing a washer but you may not have the right number of shims installed.
The caliper gets installed on the bracket and you use shims on the mounting holes so that when its tighened down the rotor is centered between the pads. Can be a real pain to get right in my experience.
Replace the rotor pieces before trying to get the shims correct.
While checking the caliper make sure all pistons move with equal eaze.
I know all too well what happens when the pistons STICK on one side of the caliper.

So I got it all figured out and took her out a few more times and everything is good… so I’ll get her registered this week being it expired in 2019 ‍♂… and I’ll be back in the saddle.

So, that means you're going to join us at Dave's farm in September? I have an extra bed if you need it.
That’s the game plan, I’m telling her to Dallas this week which is about 280 miles from me. So it’ll be her first adventure.. just found an oil leak coming from the push tube, and I guess I forgot to install the washer and o-ring so just handled that. But getting all the kinks worked out. Can’t wait to get back in the swing of things and start meeting up with y’all again
