Small Oil Leak

Good Evening Fellow BD Riders. I am having a slight issue with an oil leak. In the pix posted, it shows 4 bolts at the bottom of the motor and oil is dripping from those 4 points. Is not a lot of oil, but I am not sure how much oil i am losing while riding. I have wiped the oil off from 3 of the 4 bolts. You can see a drop of oil on one of the bolts from the rear of the motor. Is this as simple as just tightening the 4 bolts or will I be missing something? If it is as simple as tightening up, does anyone know the torque specs? Thanx for your help.IMG_0243.JPGIMG_0242.JPG

One of the old ones.
I have the chart the guys posted on the Forum, but I’m not sure of the nomenclature. Generally 1/4 inch is torqued at 90-120 in lbs. That’s 7 1/2 to 10 ft lbs.
I went out and looked at mine and it is just like yours except for mine seems to be blackened and somewhat textured....thanks a lot for giving me something to do tomorrow!! It’ll take a can of brake cleaner and a bottle of White Diamond polish to get mine up to standards.

According to the Super Sidewinder Plus 4.125 bore engines 124, 117, 111 cubic inch SERVICE MANAUL. Those bolts are the case bolts. There two different size bolts one size is 1/4 bolts and the other size is 5/16. The 1/4 bolts are torqued at 12-15 Ft Pounds or 120 Inch pounds. The remaining bolts are 5/16th bolts and they are torqued at 18-20 Ft pounds. That is straight from the manual. You may want to retorque yours, just make sure you use a torque wrench and you should be Ok.

That one photo leak is above the washer at the bottom. Looks more at the split and it's dropping down at the washer. You circled the top nut and it has oil there? Are we talking a leak out the top of the nut or at the split?

I circled all the bolts because at times I get oil dripping from all of them. I had wiped them all off except for the one bolt prior to me taking the pix. I am not sure if the oil is coming from split or the top of the nut.

Thank you all for the responses. I will take a torque wrench to them in the morning and see if I still get any leaks. Thanx again.

At the split, take a magic marker with a fat tip, and draw a line right in the middle of it. Maybe fat enough at the upper range of the split. This way you can see the ink is dry at the higher point of the split, but wet is the ink from the split down. That says it's not the top bolt, nor at the ink heading down to the lower washer.

Good afternoon fellas. So I took the bike out for a ride and I can only see one point of oil leaking from the bike. It is the right side bolt at the bottom of the motor. Checking the tightness of the bolts, I found they are all 1/2" nuts. They are all pretty tight. I looked in the service manual again and couln't find these bolts. This was in chapter 3. Is there anywhere else I could be missing? Thanx again for the help.
