Small gearbox leak after open primary install

Hello all,

Used the bike for the first time at bike week. What we thought early on was oil appears to be gear lube from the gearbox....drips only when I ride it ...fluid level is between the two lines on the dipstick.

We assume its the shaft seal but wanted to see if anyone had this after the install of the open drive. Bike has only 8K...

Will replace the tranny seal and see what happens....

Wish i could help. Did the open primary with no leaks so far.:up:

Check the allen plugs, they do loosen up

Are you sure its the gearbox and not the engine cause most folks forget to replace the seal and turn it around on the engine when they install a belt drive

Thanks guys.....I am pretty sure its gear lube from the smell.....its thicker than oil and coming from the rear where the pulley meets the motor plate..
