SISSY BAR INSTALLATION

I just received my 18" sissy bar for my 07 K9. It already has the struts with the holes. The bar doesn't want to slip into the holes. Do you have to position it, and then suck it down with the bolts. Is it that tight of a fit?

bigdog, when I put the sissy bar on my bike it was tight. i tapped it with a mallet very gently and it went into the hole. I was thinking about drawing it in with the bolts, but I didn't hav long enough threards.

Mine was a pretty tight fit also. I had to squeeze the two ends together pretty hard to get them to line up with and go into the holes.

I had to squeeze the bar ends as well - then tapped them in with a rubber mallet before tightening the bolts (with red loctite).

That sounds a bit too tight... see if maybe they'll warrenty it or try another one at the dealer and go from there.
