when i get online and look for a sissy bar, does it have to be a big dog brand, or can i just use an aftermarket one? cause i really dont want to spend 400.00 on a sissy bar, then 100.00 on a back rest pad, and another 100.00 on a back plate. I understand that with owning a big dog, it takes money to dress them up, but dang, i gotta draw a line somewhere. If i can go after market, how do i need to measure it out? i know that my rear tire is 240.

You have to buy the kit most likely. You may be able to find it cheap by doing some online shopping and just take time before you buy. I'd frequent the eBay pages of shovelheadkicker and bigdogpartskingpin (same person) as he gets a lot of older parts and they sell cheap. There's a lot of 300 kits out there...be sure you get one that will be smaller and fit your bike.

the problem with our bikes is that they are are in a "custom class" and it really would not be good business for a company to spend the money to design, market and sell parts for these bikes there just isnt a big enuf market for them. you will prolly have to buy the big dog struts but if you want you could go to a custom bike shop and have one made ,but you prolly be in the same price range sorry dude!!!
