About to go ride yesterday, take the cover off and the bike is sitting on the rim. Get the tire pumped up and there is a leak commig form the center of the tire looks like a .25" metal blade in the center of the tire about 1mm in width.

Would you replace the tire or plug the hole?

Need your thoughts on this.

Just wondering if the plug would help, to do a patch they have to take the tire off so might as well change out the tire, but to plug it it would be easy to do, just can't run the bike past 60mph.
Sucks to deal with this before a long weekend when you want tot put on 300 miles on the bike.

Had this happen to me twice before on new tires. Didn't want to throw away the tires so I put a plug in them. Held for the life of the tires. I used alot of glue and had a real tight plug seal. It's up to you, it's your ass.

If you dont value your life much and your family could use your life insurance policy to pay off some bills....well by all means plug that sumnabitch.......
But if youd like to live another day to ride and have a piece of mind while doing so .........I firmly suggest changing out the tire......

I have had them last and blow back out it's up to you how lucky do you feel? If I was just riding around town I would plug and wait for winter tire deals but on a trip I prob would change it.

Thank you guys, I bought a tire last night, it is the 300/35 VR 18 Cobra, mine was the regular 300/35 18 I don't really know what the VR is but maybe you know.

I agree if I can have a 30k bike I shouldn't be a cheap fuck and risk my life for $200.

And I agree with all of you, keeping it under 55 with the plug fuck that, I ride my bike at 80-100mph way too often to risk it.

Ordered a front tire from The Tire Cave on Tuesday and it was delivered Thursday. Great customer service. I highly reccommend them.
