So hear I am again with a DEAD DOG!!!! I have done all the little tests and wire checking and im back to where I was a few months ago.... I changed the Ignition Cam Sensor a few months ago and it has been great since.... Now a few days ago I started having starting problems.... crank crank crank and nothing... then crank again and hey it starts lol... So I go out the other day and again nothing... did all the checks and its the damn sensor again.... Its now shot... getting power and good ground but not shooting out the signal... did the ol jump the green and black together and poof big spark.. plus checked the wire with the meter and its all saying the sensor...

So here is my question.. how often do these things go out or has anyone had one go out that fast??? I have put over 3200 miles so far spring/summer and I would think that these things would last alot longer than that!!! BTW its the standard 3 wire sensor....

Can't really say, I have had no problems yet. However I did have problem last week when the dog died twice on my ride to work. I haven't found the problem yet.

Had the cam sensor go bad last year -- no problems since, but I've changed out my pipes as well - new one don't heat up the nose cone area like the last one.

They rarely go bad -- sounds like a heat issue around the cam sensor. Have you considered running it without the points cover on or fabing a meshed points cover? Hummmm - I think I have a new idea for a project....
