i have an 05 ridgeback. shifter jumps out 1st when cold when its warmed up it seems to be ok dealer said he made an adjustment to 1st gear made it worst dealer closed up shop.

its an internal mechanical piece of the tranny... you can make an adjustment from the outside though. Do a search for a dogvet post. He tells how to do it.
 
That's what mine is doing, dealer said it was because of sticky heim joints, and that he would replace them. I'll let you know what happens when I get it back.

I don't see how sticking heim joints would cause it to jump out of gear

Gotta agree with Lee on this one, it ain't heim joints, it's either:
1.Shifter pawl adjustment
2.Worn dogs on the gears (those are the little teeth on the sides sliding gears that engage the gear)
3.Bent or worn shift fork

The fact that it only seems to do this when cold would make me suspect either #1or #3:zz2cents:
