I just got my 500 mile service completed and was wondering if the service departments send the info to the factory or do I? How long does it usually takes for them to update and show in the system? Should the service department give me a copy of the module reading?

I'm just guessing but I don't think they notify the factory. I service all my bikes in my driveway and save my receipts.

actually they do download and send the info to the factory for warranty purposes, aka if you have what BDM considers too many rev hits they will void your warranty. My service people give me a printout of all the downloded info such as how many minutes at each rpm, how many rev hits and some other stuff. Friend of mine had too many rev hits and they would not cover an engine issue he had.

Submitting the info to BDM is how the dealers get paid for the warranty work.
They can give you a copy once they submit the info.

So does this mean that the dealer submits the the download at the normal services, 500, 2500, 5000 as well as for warranty work?

Anything over a certain RPM. BDM cam tell every RPM hit you have done with that EHC. They can tell if you hit 6000 RPM and the motor blew and then you lied and said I have never been over 3000 RPM.

well I talked to the the dealer that did my 500 mile service about getting a copy of the module reading and he said that they don't do a module reading unless there is something wrong. Is this true or should they do it for every service?

Yes, they never do mine unless I ask them too. But if warranty work is completed then BDM has them download it and send it in.
