I'm so pissed...when I was getting off the bike this weekend, I didn't lift my foot high enough, and a piece of my boot caught the back fender. There's a slight scuff on the fender now:bang: ....I immediately used a spray cleaner to try and polish off the the scuff, but to no avail... Do you think I can get it out with wax? I have to wait another month though, because its a fairly new bike.

If the mark is just in the clear coat you can buff it out with a good light scratch remover - if you hit the metal you may need to send it back to the factory for fixing.

Would wait till the paint has had the time to breath since it is new and then get out a good detail polish. You should have no issues getting what a typical boot scuff would be. May take a little muscel grease into it, but should not be a problem.

Good luck and let us know how you make out

Buff out the scuff mark

I have a 2008 k-9 and made the mistake of tying a WalMart plastic bag containing a pair of leather chaps tied to the sissy bar luggage rack. When I got home from the 20 mile ride I noticed the plastic bag had rubbed a "cloud" in the paint. I took it to a local small motorcyle shop and the mechanic used a high speed buffer to buff out the scuff mark. Worked great with now sign of the scuff now. Be sure to not wax the paint for a full three months like Big Dog recommends. Good luck. Whistler.
