I have a small scratch in my rear wheel after a tire change, a little to deep for
Mothers Billet to remove. Does anyone have the correct procedure for polishing it out ? I e-mailed Performance Machine, I believe they make the wheel for BD,
but I haven't heard back yet

Another round please
You can get a high speed drill (air is faster)with the right buffer on the end and the right polish and you will get it out.

For deep scratches on aluminum wheels and other surfaces I have used 1500 to 2000 grit wet and dry sandpaper and then buffed it. It worked great for me :2thumbs:

For deep deep deep scratches.....

No really, as boo said, I've done the same, and all is good. Just take your time....

Time & patience will pay off. Just BE CAREFUL...if you don't know what you're doing with power equipment, you can really 'FUBAR' a wheel in short order!:bang:
I personally would work on this problem by hand vs. using power tools...then see how it looks and go from there. Good luck! :)

I did the same thing when a ratchet slipped. I used a high speed Dremel with rubbing compound. Then scratch compound. then finished with mothers by hand and you could never tell it was there.

Don't even bother with power tools, just start with a file or 120 grit wet/dry paper, and work your way down to 1500 wet and then mothers. Will take you 20 min.
