Scooter got "Rained" on !!!!!!!

Saturday afternoon we road in a ride to help some people out kinda thing, and afterwards several went to get something to eat to end the day. It was dark when we got there so I really didn't think about rain. The scooter was about 98% spotless clean. The waitress came by the table and asked if we were the ones on the bikes,,,, that it was pouring down rain !!! The first time it has been really rained on since I got it, sprinked on a couple times but really wet, wet. It was just a passing cloud that dumped the rain on us so we waited it out about 20 minutes until it quit raining and the roads were starting to dry out. We were insight of the interstate so I headed home. the interstate was already dry so I as they say" Cooked" the road to the house. Wiped it off when I got home, knowing I would have to really go over it again.

The real story:
You know I used weimans silver polish on the billet and the chrome after I use mothers billet and chrome polish,,,, kinda takes the swirls out ands pops a little better shine. This is what I did not know about it. It was spotted from the rain but all that wiped off really easy back to the new like finish with not a lot of trouble at all. Weiman's silver polish at Walmart for $3.50 a tub. I highly recomend it for you shine o holics out there.

Me and my girlfriend got rained on yesterday in Clarksville TN but we expected that when we went out...
We had a good time and had a couple of beers..
Clean the bike another day but rain is in the forecast most of the week so I will ride it as is and enjoy...

The last time we went to Florida my son in law trailered his Suzuki and barely ever rode it while we were down there. I took it out the road without a helmet a little way too. We were staying on the beach and his chain and various other parts rusted up.

You all will laugh at me but after I saw the scooter getting soaked in the rain sitting in the parking lot, It was close to spotless clean, waxed/polished up,,,I probably did not say a half dozen words , "Silence" until the rain let up I wiped it off, hit the interstate where it was dry, and cooked the road home... to avoid another soaking,,.

I have almost finished re waxing and re polishing everything down again, even with the silver polish. I am going to make me a seat on wheels close to the ground to move around the scooter while detailing the crap out of it, something really comfortable. The concrete is killing my hiney.

That is a fact! i spend a lot of time cleaning and polishing, just to look presentable deffinately dont keep it show quality clean

Ray, mechanics creeper seats are pretty cheap. The best ones have a shelf for holding tools and stuff, or in your (this) case polishing supplies, rags, and junk like that.
The one I have/use these days I got free from the company that I bought a jack lift from for home use. Check (the top few selections) out from this link or do a google for others, I think it might be easier for you than designing and building your own:

Very handy for fluid and filter changes, alignments, anything where ya gotta "get low", lol.

I don't clean mine much cause it will just get dirty again with all the rain I had in Washington and now here in Florida.

My buddy in Washington always gave me shit about it telling me "do you wipe you ass"!!!!

I have a creeper and a little roll around mechanics seat, but what I am thinking about something a few inches off the ground, rolls easy, and really comfortable, cause I can sit and polish/wax sometimes for hours and it is tough getting of the floor. They make a little plate of a thing to roll around trash cans , I used to use them when I had to work on something very close to the ground to move around as I needed to and not get as dirty either.

Wants Ray( The other Ray) to bring that scooter by the house and get it really cleaned up , polished up, waxed up. maybe better gas mileage .

Making something for the scooter on the lathe in the garage while I got a little free time,,,might even polish a little on the scooter too.

Bikers ride, RUBs ride when it's nice out. I've damn near installed snorkel and fins on my bike.

Just ride, water just helps get the dust off.
