While on a 1200 mile trip my Mutt died on the side of a mountain in Kentucky. Semi trucks were roaring passed us around blind bends in the road. I looked over and two white crosses were sticking up, marking a fatal crash site. Needless to say I was a little uncomfortable.

Within 5 minutes a bike and then a truck with a trailer stopped to help. They loaded the bike up and drove us to the next town where we were able to get the bike running in about 3 hours. They both stayed the whole time, helping out and making sure we were going to be ok.

I don't know of many people that would inconvenience themselves like that, but I am glad they are still out there.

That's great to hear. Most folks like that won't take money either. All you can do is return the favor to someone else in need and remember the day someone took their time to help you. :2thumbs::)

I had someone do something similar for me once.
I have returned the favor a few times since then.
Glad to hear it worked out. What wound up being the problem?

I was about 20 miles past Wildcat Harley Davidson on route 75 heading towards TN when I heard a loud boom. The bike was dead. The starter wire was exposed, the coating was barely on, all copper. I guess it was the battery that shorted out because after a new one was installed the bike is running fine.

This was one week after the Mutt almost burned to the ground when the brain caught on fire. I called customer service to complain and I was told they would extend the warranty by 1 month. Are they serious, 1 month? This bike has left me stranded 3 times in 3 months! 1 tranny, 2 electrical.

Glad to hear someone stopped to help you. I had a similar experience with an AIH owner who just bought his bike and the front break locked up on him. I offered to help with my truck, but he had a tow truck on the way already.

I'd talk to your dealer and see if they can go over the entire electrical system under warranty since you have had electrical problems.
