Finally got the tubes and new rocker arms in today so now let the fun begin changing them shitty tp covers off and the new shinny s&s covers on

I'm a cheap bastard, I can't pay a ton for something I could do myself. But the peace of mind is nice. Are you going to have whoever try the set screw deal for the rocker shafts?

I’m gonna let him do whatever he needs to he worked at our bigdog. Shop we had in Erie pa from the day they opened til they closed

Set screws are necessary if the bushings are worn at end of the rocker arm and tapping just replace the bushings any machine shop can ream them s&s website has the ream specs
So it only helps if the bushings are worn? I've seen people say that even after putting S&S boxes on from TP that it still ticks, thought the set screws were a possible solve to that

More than likely valve guides are worn is what the ticking is
I just had brand new valves and guides installed to match up with the bore, the 600 cam, and the spun dropped heads.. and mine ticked.. definitely in the rocker arm housing.. s&s says it' notorious. They were actually the ones who suggested I do the set screws..
