I think most of the guys that are running filters use Pingel.

The Russell and Pingel look like similar filter media, either should be good...
I run the Pingel myself... seemed to be the popular choice, and the only one available at my stealer.

I just put one on my BDM. I went w/ a pingel but not sure what will happen in the summer in AZ. Mine is in the same spot but it states to keep away from intake and heads around 3 inches and not let it get above 180. Not sure if it will vapor lock when it is a 115 out.
