Running with no fender out fork brace?

I pulled my front fork brace off to have it powder coated and was doing some polishing of the fender struts when I decided that I really like the look.
Has any one put any miles on running with out the front fender set up? I don't notice much flex our twist so far.

I know someone who has removed it but ya still need the brace I believe. Looks good but you'll get wet.

I am a bit in favor of going with the fender. The front fender is very form fitting and look real nice compared to other scooters. My sportster fender looks like crap compared to the Big Dog, but I have always liked the look of the Big Dogs fenders. Your bike, if you like it do it. :up:

I've had my front fender off for a couple years. I would leave the brace on. I rode my friends AIH that doesn't have the brace and it was a weird feeling. The flex in the front end is very noticeable

could definitely use a brace but not many options for the 58mm

Definitely a noticeable difference with the brace and without. Especially when diving into a turn and braking.
As far a water in the face this is Fl. when it rains I'm pouring water out of my boots daily anyway..

As far as the look, I feel like the fender puts the bike in kind of a "show" type of look, without the fender I can now hang out with my friends in low places...

All kidding aside, I'll do a quick simulated chrome or aluminum powercoat on the brace to hide the corrosion and flaking chrome that got me started on this path to begin with.

To Brace Or Not To Brace

:flag: Oldskuul from what I`ve learned over the years is that businesses do not put parts on they do not think are necessary. I think the saying goes "parts not installed cost nothing and give few service related warranty issues". That a said IMHO the brace, to me, would be a safety related issue. Hell, whatever makes your bike handle better would be a no brainer even without the safety aspect. My 48 years "in the saddle" tell me what I would do. I am even considering adding a friction damper between the frame and forks. It`s your choice, your hind end. :flag: :up:

Def looks good. But as said ya need a brace. There are a lot of shorter fenders available to minimize the bulk.

I ran quite awhile without fender but i ran the martin brothers fork brace which bolts to the fender mounts.

I've also rode both manufactures, can't tell a bit of difference...but what do I know, only been riding for 41 years. Yep, can't ride a "long forked" bike without a brace....just to dangerous

with those skinny ass 41mm forks i agree. with the 58mm its not bad till over 80mph
