Routine maintenance

Hey guys, I know there is a wealth of info on this site about all sorts of maintenance. What I was wondering is what do you consider routine day to day maintenance? I see a lot of guys say they always staying one step ahead by making sure all routine maintenance is done, but what does that entail? For me personally, I generally just check the fluids, tire pressure and go over the bike to make sure nothing is coming loose. Is there anything else I should be doing regularly, outside of what I listed? I've always gotten my bikes serviced yearly by a mechanic, so I'm really just looking for what you guys might call the basic day to day maintenance on a Big Dog. I appreciate any insight.
