Round and Round: WTB: ‘08 K9 Wheel

The question is this: Anyone have or know of a chrome front K9 wheel (2008 K9) to sell (see pic below)? Or possibly upgrade to a set of newer style wheels?

My ‘08 K9 has an OEM chrome package front wheel that has peeled almost as much chrome as remains. Damn thing looks like me after a bad sunburn. There is also some corrosion around the bead seal that created a slow leak too, so I’ve been running an inner tube.
(A) A new chrome OEM replacement wheel from HDM is about $1500.
(B) MecLec will clean up my old one and re-chrome it for $7-800 (the cleanup and some bead sealer MAY solve the slow leak). I’d expect 8 about weeks down time.
(C) Searching CL, eBay and Amazon (and of course this forum) comes up dry.

This is what sucks now is chrome isnt what chrome used to be in the 70s and 80s....thats alot of money to have it rechromed....which i know chroming is high and it keeps getting higher....epa played a big part in chrome not lasting as long because of the chemical process, which i understand thatbut chrome just doesnt hold up good anymore...i dont know if i wouldnt just stripped it and polished it out....gosh i wished i had a wheel in stock for you....i have several wheels but not that one

Yeah—-My understanding is that the price of nickel has skyrocketed. Can’t do blue chrome without it…..I’ve owned both chrome wheel and polished wheel Big Dogs—Sure do prefer the chrome…….haha But polished always an option. Where did I put that Mother’s Billet anyhow?

I have found several big dog wheels forsale...im not forsure what different styles he has but maybe once i get the pics hopefully he has one that you need...just have to wait and see what all he has got....ita all a package deal of different big dog stuff we are trying to put together and work out a price for me to buy it all...i will let you know as soon and i get all the pics

Just buy the Wheel from HDM, I think you get 10% off and be done with it. Buy a new tire while you are at it. Then strip your old wheel, polish it and sell it here or on Ebay

Nah—The spindles were good so Blacktopper and I removed the brake rotor and spindles and sent it to Atlas for rechromimg. He has his old ‘07 K9 in the shop with that same wheel and let me use that until mine gets back. Expected costs still at $600 +shipping. New tire sitting in my shop ready to go.
