Ok guys, Ive finally woke up and got rid of my sport bike...

Im looking at a 09 K-9 and the dealer wants $29850.+ fees

With the economy and being a 09, Im sure theyll come down on that price..

WHATS FAIR? What should I go in with?

Thanks and hopefully if the dealer wants to deal, Ill be riding that bike SOON!

Wow, with the way the economy is, I'd look for a used one instead of new.

I paid 12K for an 03 chopper with 10,000 miles on it.. K9s are going for as low at 15K if you look around.

$15k for NEW or used? I really want a new one...but that's a thought...

It just worries me to buy someone elses "problem"...

How does the warranty work...Ive only had sportbikes which haver dealerships everywhere. Im moving to Biloxi, MS here soon and I dont THINK there's a BD dealer in the area. Although I could be wrong...

If you want new wait till the 2010 chopper comes out and save a ton of cash. I think you would be lucky if you could get that dealer to come down mybe a grand.

Go used dude, resale sucks so take advantage, rather then get boned when it's your turn to sell.

If its just what you were looking for, buy it. Its worth what your willing to pay. It's not a investment, if you plan on selling it your going to loose money. I bought mine to keep and ride. As far as warranty....2 year warranty and any dealer or service center will cover you.

I never understood the "your turn to sell" way of thinking... I buy a bike to ride and enjoy, I have not thoughts on selling my bike. Vehicles are RARELY investment, it usually isn't wise to purchase them for their resale value. But you can save a ton of $$ by buying used!

I'm not telling you to buy used, but expect that price to drop close to $10k after you sign the dotted line. It's not b/c it's a Big Dog, it's b/c the economy is shit right now, and these, in the end, are "toys" and not necessities.

Just my .02 cents

What he said. You just get more bang for the buck if you buy one with a few thousand miles on it. Take advantage of the bad economy. My 07 K-9 sold new for $31,000, I paid $18,350 with 6,000mi. on it and it looks & runs like new. Just a thought.

I wait till the 2010 chopper comes out.. discuss it with a dealer.. thay might can put you on the waiting list.. or if no dealer in you area.. have a dealer ship it to you.. good luck..

The chopper models are more comfortable for the smaller riders. You may want to test ride the bikes before focusing on just one model.

There is something inherently satisfying when buying new...

Ok, I think Im going to take yall advice...there are some nice bikes out there in the $12-18 range.

07 K9 600 miles $18k

03 Chopper 11k miles $12500

05 Chopper 1600 miles $13800

What the difference in the Chopper and K9? What year did they go to the K9?

If you ask me, it is bullchit fees. I guess it covers prep, title and other crap. This "fee" would be negotiable of course.

You should know that 05 and newer are RSD and 04 and earlier are LSD. (Except for the Bulldog in 03-04 but it's different setup compared to the "Balanced Drive").
