rocker box noise!

Have a 07 k9, after brake in [3000 miles] changed to amsoil 20w50 for engine.
Noticed noise in top end, talked to dealers up north found others had same noises, thay had rebilt a lot of oil pumps before some one told them to drill out the head breather pipe/check valve [on rear head] plug the vacuum hose to the front head & run that hose to the breather backing plate.
seems with the vavuum removed from the front tappet area, the bike gains
thee psi. oil pressure on top end! [vacuum was sucking the oil out of the bearings]
have no oil drip at air filter or any problums, you still will have some noise in top end but thats just syn. oil, a small trade off for the good things it brings to the table :up: :2thumbs:

My concern too ..

reloaderbmg, I installed an oil pressure gauge because the oil light would come on when it was hot at idle - I wanted to know what the pressure was. Turns out my gauge would go to 0 psi at 1000 rpms and jump to 7-8 psi at 1500 psi (this idiot light was working). When hot running 2000 rpms pressure is at 15-20psi. Funny thing is cold pressure 30psi running, 15 psi idle and stays there for a good 20 or more minutes of riding. My HD never went above 15 psi cold or hot and dropped to 7 psi at idle. I was concerned regarding the noise at the top end coming from an HD which is pretty quiet - seems some is normal and after hearing a few other Dogs mine seems quite. I recently added zMAX to the oil and after 200+ miles the motor sounds are way down and even stranger no more 0 psi at idle and the light never comes on .. go figure.

where was the oil gauge installed [on the engine ] if in the hole for the rocker oil feed, did you clean the screen???[just checking]

also i believe you can remove the front breather tube like s&s says only if you have their rocker boxes. guys with the TP boxes who tried this had serious blow-by.

you have to cap off the vacuum port on the intake manifold!
