I am getting some kind of film (pretty sure it is oil) on the right side plastic cover just above the starter. It is enough to have thin drip trails from the top to the bottom of the cover. Any ideas where I should look first and what kind of an issue I may be dealing with? Could this be blowing back out of the breather / carb intake?
Thanks guys!

Sounds like blow back to me, I get it and I know it's time to clean my air filter....

It is blow by from the front breather. More than likely. Mine does it. No biggie. One other thing is that it will happen a little more often if you lug the motor very much.

But why has it started over the last few months?
What would have changed?

Look up a "title search" for "breather"

You'll find your answers but un hook, plug, and run the rear breather to the floor. Problem solved.
