My left side gas cap would not come out when I bought the bike, it was stuck big time.
I got a new paint protector and cap from Donna. (THANKS DONNA)
Finally ended up with a piece of leather on the tank, got under the cap with a large screwdriver and twisted and it popped out.
Used the paint protector spanner tool and twisted wasn't working, just twisted so hard it chipped the teeth on the spanner.
Got out a punch and a hammer tried to use the spanner slots and just rolled them over.
Time to get hard core, got a chisel and a big hammer used the top as the area of attack and half an hour later the protector came out.
The previous owner had used JB weld and a home made flat rubber gasket and screwed it down and jammed the gasket in the thread while he was doing it.

Spent an hour with a rag stuffed in the hole while scraping out the JB Weld and the rubber gasket glued to the threads. Touched up the paint damage with some nail polish and put the new in.
I don't know why some people do what they do.
