How?I just rebuilt the starter in my 07 K9 and didn't take off the primary.
good to know, blacktopper. thanks for the info. i guess logic doesn't play a part in the manufacturing process. seems like they would make the hole just larger than the shaft for less chance of leakage.Removed the exhausts, the pulley cover, the covers, and took the two bolts from the back side. The starter gear came thru the inner primary hole.
When working with the Karata open primary - there are only two bolts that hold the starter, and you do not have to take off the primary plate. YES you will have to remove both battery covers, exhaust and pulley cover to get the starter out.Well looks like the karata has to come off. This is turning into a big job
had to remove the belt also. thanks for the info guysWhen working with the Karata open primary - there are only two bolts that hold the starter, and you do not have to take off the primary plate. YES you will have to remove both battery covers, exhaust and pulley cover to get the starter out.
