Removing Fork Slider for Re-chroming

I've read the replacing fork seal threads and was just wondering if there are any other parts I should replace, besides obviously the fork seal and retaining spring, while I disassemble the forks for re-chroming the fork sliders and dust covers? Any items to look out for wear? I don't have any experience w/ forks and don't trust any of the mechanics around here.

Any advice or recommendations, besides thoroughly cleaning all the internals the day of, when I disassemble and have to wait 5 weeks for the sliders to come back from the chrome shop?

check/replace the upper and lower bushings, items #10 and #35 on the exploded view. (at least in my manual) they are the same as the HD 41 mm rebuild kit.

they are split rings with white teflon on the outside of them. (2) upper and (2) lower.
