red stripe springs

I hear some ppl have the red stripe springs and some dont (from factory) why is that? and why do they do that???

SIICK!!!
red stripe springs mean that they are the heavier .640 springs.....I already had them in my scoot when I had the .600 cam installed last year:up:

Depends on the year and the cam and valve train set up. You can pull your rocker box cover and see what you have! Just those six little cap screws:2thumbs:

let me rephrase the question:rolleyes: ummmmmm some ppl get these red stripe springs from the factory and some dont. if the bikes in 2007 are all running the same cam Why do some have that red stripe spring and some dont:loony:

from my understanding, they had more of the 640 springs on hand when they (the epa) made them back down on the performance of the motors. instead of having the unused inventory on hand, they went ahead and used them on the lesser cam. doesn't hurt a thing and it gives the guys that got them a leg up on aftermarket build-up. does that explain anything?
