Rebuild my starter?

Since I've got everything apart, should I throw a rebuild kit in my starter? It starts fine, no issues at all, but I've got the time now to do it. How about sending it out to get rewound and beefed up? I know a few guys have done this.

Wouldn't hurt, that way you know its good to go and not worry if it's going to last another week or so. :2thumbs:

had mine done at a local alt shop. not sure of all he did but i know he welded new brushes in place. he also thought it was a 2.4 KW which i dont believe BD spec'd it as.

At minimum, pull it apart and inspect it. If anything has you worried, I'd have it rebuilt. Like you said, why not since it's apart.
